Support Groups
Bariatric surgery is a life-changing event. Our ongoing, monthly support groups provide the outreach and education to help you adjust to your new, post-operative lifestyle. You will be required to change your eating habits, exercise regularly and make other behavior modifications in order to achieve and maintain your weight loss goals after surgery. You may face challenges as you get used to your new nutritional requirements, behavioral habits, physical activity levels, and how the surgery is affecting your interpersonal relationships.
The support groups provide a one-of-a-kind opportunity to interact with other post-operative patients and discuss the physical and emotional changes that follow bariatric surgery. Meetings are professionally guided by our dietitian and behavioral therapist. Guest speakers are invited to address special areas of interest. In addition, exercise-specific support groups are offered monthly by our physical therapist.
